The world of nonprofits is one that often has more need than resources. Much of this can be attributed to a nonprofit organization having a greater desire to deliver services to clients than being controlled by the need to cover expenses. Organizations that are profit driven are expected to maximize income, minimize expense, or both. It is more difficult for a nonprofit to deny the delivery of services, no matter what the level of income or expense. Small to midsize nonprofits often do not have a product or service which they can "sell." This makes it difficult to sustain an organization.
